I am always on the lookout for inspiring stories to highlight either in a Your Blooming podcast or on my blog. I recently came across a website movement called: Spirit Jump. Spirit Jump started in November 2008 by two women that battled cancer themselves. The first is Meaghan, who was diagnosed with end stage cancer in 2007 and after many treatments, is now cancer free. Stacy, the other woman behind the program, is currently fighting the battle against Stage IV Melanoma.
Spirit Jump directly connects a gift giver (or Spirit Jumper) with a person battling cancer, with the hopes of lifting the spirit of the gift receiver. The gift can be a hand-made craft, or simply a card. The choice is totally up to the giver. The entire point is to simply bring a smile to somebody’s day, that surely needs it. Now, I ask you, how inspiring is that?

I have a special treat for you for today’s Feel Good Friday post. It is episode number 5 of Your Blooming! Episode 5 is the story of Tabitha, an amazing woman doing inspiring things and inspiring others to do the same. Sounds familiar right?
Stories like Tabitha’s is what Your Blooming is all about. Tabitha reached out to me via the Be a Guest page of this website and briefly shared her story with me in writing. I was totally blown away. I immediately responded to her inquiry and said “I absolutely would like to have you on the show!” We set up a day and time to talk and Episode 5 is what came of our conversation.
Tabitha newest project – Project Uplift starts tonight at 7:00pm CST. You can get the call-in information on Tabitha’s website: http://www.afiveoh4uplifting.org/ Thank you Tabitha for sharing your story!

Today’s Feel Good Friday entry simply is a quote that I received in my email this morning.
You know, no one’s sad when company’s coming. I have memories of company coming to my parents’ home and all of us getting well-dressed and anticipating good food. That’s the atmosphere I try to create, to always feel festive about our daily life.” –Vimala Rajendran
I actually look forward to the weekends (especially in the summer) because I know family and friends will be coming over to our house for food, fun and family time! What a great way to think and feel about every single day of your life! Amazing.
My mother is my inspiration, so of course, I found it fitting to have her on my podcast. I hope you find her inspiring too!
Learn more about my mother and this podcast episode by reading this Blog Post.
I am full of energy, gratitude and optimism today. While my brother is my real-life hero, my mother is my inspiration and provides the strength I need to forge ahead.
She has always been by my side. That is why it was surprising to hear that prior to my being born, she never thought in a million years, that should could care for a sick child. However, she did it and was great at it too. She is the definition of strength and inspiration in my book. That is why I had asked her to be a guest on my podcast, specifically to talk about her experiences as a mother to a child who was in and out of the hospital for the first six years of their life (me).
As you will hear in our conversation, this woman, is amazing. There is one sentence my mother kept repeating during our conversation “You just do what you have to do. You don’t think about it, you just do.” Mom, I have to tell you, not everyone thinks that way and that is why you, you are an inspiration.
